The Secret’s in the Sauce

What is it about tomato sauce that might prevent cancer?

Evidence is building that the secret ingredient might be lycopene. Related to beta carotene, it’s found in high levels in tomatoes and pink grapefruit. Lycopene seems to be a strong antioxidant and might have stronger anticancer effects than beta carotene.

Your 2 Week Old Baby

Intake and Output. An infant at this stage will need breast milk or infant formula to thrive. Most formula fed infants will take 2 to 3 ounces every 2-3 hours. Breast fed babies will feed 10-20 minutes on each breast every 2-3 hours.

Infants will usually wet between 6-8 diapers in a 24 hour period. Breast fed babies may have a bowel movement 5-8 times a day. Bottle fed babies may be 5 or less per 24 hours. It’s important to remember however, every baby is different. If stool is hared or an infant hasn’t had a bowel movement in 24-48 hours, should pediatric healthcare provider should be notified.
